HAI2U! ^__^ Posted by GRIM.657, Thu Aug 07, 2008 4:38 pm

So.. there's two new little tab thingies at the top. Well, ones a revival, one is new.

Under Game Info, you can get some.. Game Info!!! Very Happy
Manuals and Patches (more manuals will come, i promise), and a Stepchart viewer which, imho, is quite a bit better than other ones Smile
ITG, DDR, PPRO, IIDX and (soon) Pop'n

The downloads area is back, but rather empty for now, but stuff will be coming, i promise. There won't be the mountains of converted simfiles like before, but there will be nice things for you. Nice things indeed.

So, yeah. There ya go. Some new things, and promises of more new things

Love,
GRIM

edit; oh, and of course, if you catch any bugs, lemme know. Knowing me there's bound to be a couple

Seeing as this number represents a ton of different things to different people, we on the OpenITG dev team feel the need to provide you with a friendly reminder:

Puff puff pass, don't hog the grass.

Thank you for your time.

OpenITG now at alpha 4 Posted by infamouspat, Fri Mar 21, 2008 12:51 pm

It's time this deserves more publicity than it has now.

http://www.boxorroxors.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=657

For the past month or so, Vyhd, Matt1360, and I have been making breakthroughs implementing full ITG functionality into regular StepMania 3.95. Through collaboration, we have managed to take StepMania 3.95 and mimic ITG behavior on the known cabinet types for the game by trying to retrace the steps of the ITG dev team. It started off as a fun project, then sort of boomed into a possible replacement for official ITG and then some.

What has been implemented so far in terms of ITG Functionality:
- ScreenArcadePatch: ability to update the game through machine revisions (.itg or .bxr files)
- ScreenArcadeDiagnostics: hardware, network, and I/O diagnostics screen. For this to work on windows, the LibUSB filter driver must be installed (http://libusb-win32.sourceforge.net).
- PIUIO: though full functionality is still not implemented, will still work on a dedicab
- ITGIO (upgrade kit hardware): input is fully functional, lights are borked - Vyhd
- RageFileDriverCrypt: reading of proprietary file system used for ITG2 arcade systems.
- Custom song support: songs loaded from file in an r21/r23-like fashion

what is still needed:
- ScreenArcadeStart: ITG's initial loading screen for hardware
-Lighting on ITGIO, fixed input on PIUIO - Vyhd

possible ideas for the future after all the core ITG modules are developed (thought by either us or testers):
- Custom courses
- On-the-fly results display error correction (say if you get a pad miss, you can bring up a menu that can correct that miss to a Fantastic to see your new results, however only the original score will be written to your profile)
- SM4.0 theme bindings
- Custom speed mods added from profile (Editable.ini)

Alpha 4, its latest revision, shows that the project is still young, but going strong. The arcade look & feel of ITG has been ported successfully over to Windows with this revision and includes minor new features too.

The main site for OpenITG development is at: http://openitg.gr-p.com. Mirrors will be up shortly.

EDIT: forgot ITGIO :V

Any bugs or problems can be reported at http://www.boxorroxors.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6409

Spread the word. Infect the whole population my minions.

The Return (Now w/ less goatse) Posted by GRIM.657, Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:22 pm

So... as you know, the site was taken down recently.

Basically, it was some TOS bs, and yeah, it sucks. Anyway, we're in a safer place now (many thanks to sherl0k for this)

for now, all of the downloads and previous attachments are gone. Downloads will be back as soon as possible (we need to buy a new hdd for the sows server), but the previous attachments are gone forever

Forum accounts and posts have been set back to early december.

In an attempt to add some good news in, I've been working on some new parts of the site i hope to launch soon
More details on that soon.

Anyway, we're back and staying.
